  • I believe that this figure of speech is simile because the word like is used. This means that the Exploding eggs on their front door look like and smells like smears of snot. This poem is about how rude neighborhood kids vandalize neighbors'  homes and where Ha's family starts to meet some neighbors.  The word choice of smears like snot reflects to the tone of this poem because neighborhood kids ruin neighbors houses.
